This Accord has made me happy. I had to purchase it quickly after my A5 was totaled and my insurance company gave me little time in a rental. With mostly around town driving I was able to see how having the torque down low was of great benefit. I traveled to Austin to COTA and while on the toll roads 85 - 90 was comfortable and quiet. I kept driving on that tank until Thursday and was happy to avg 33.8 MPG of mixed Hwy and City. I tend to have a lead foot and obtaining that surprised me. I have played with many of the electronic systems and love the integration of these systems. If you explore the car systems, you will find items that will make ownership more enjoyable. Smooth when you want it, capable when you need it. HUGE trunk and backseat doesnt hurt.

I live in Texas and purchased my Honda Accord 1.5 Touring model in January 2018. I did not have a single complaint until approx. April. I started hearing this rattling noise coming from my heads up display in the driver side dashboard. I took it in, they dealership advised me that Honda was aware of the problem but at this time there was no fix for it. I noticed that it got worse when the car was getting exposed to heat and eventually once the car cooled off the rattling noise would stop. I took it back in about a month later, they again told me that there was no fix for it and it was due to how compact the car was. ANNOYING!! Its June and the noise is now daily due to the summer heats in Texas. Also, the front sensors often go off when Im at a complete stop at a stoplight for no absolute reason, dealership ran a diagnostic and they cant duplicate the problem. This is my second Accord (previous one was 2013-EXL) and I have to admit that I had extremely higher expectations for it considering my previous experiences. The gas mileage is pretty amazing and the design itself is sleek. I will most likely trade out of the vehicle within the next year.

I have a 2018 EX in Radiant Red and now that I have driven 9k miles since last early November, I thought it was time to update everyone regarding my assessment of the car. The great news is my opinion has not changed since the day I laid eyes on it. The 2018 Accord is a great car. I have had ZERO issues with it and it still looks the way it did 7 months ago. This is a testament to the quality of materials used by Honda. The car is a blast to drive. It handles in a manner that almost makes you want to drive a little harder than you should and yet gets 32.2 mpg in truly mixed driving. The fuel efficiency alone for a large car is impressive. Most of the time I drive in ECON mode and never really needed more power than that. Turn off ECON mode and you will be surprised what that 1.5 liter engine can do. Now that my 2013 EX with the 2.4 liter is back home after spending time transporting my daughter around at college, I drove it to compare to the 2018. Yes, they are very different vehicles. The 2018 feels much roomier inside and considering both cars are the same trim level, the 18 looks and feels much more upscale. The 18 has even better road view than the 13 - its almost panoramic. The 18 sits noticeably lower and the entry to the rear seats requires some attention unless head bumps are your thing. Otherwise the cabin of the 18 is more spacious than the 13. Power-wise, the cars are close but the 18 does seem to pull away from a stop quicker and it feels faster overall. Finally, the 18 handles much better probably due to the stiffer body structure and the lower and wider stance. Is the 2018 Accord perfect - no. Is it the best car in the segment - I think it is almost hands down. Listed below are some features that some people may not like or may be sensitive to when buying a car. Keep in mind that the mid-size market is experiencing re-designs on their flagship cars so the items I list will likely carry over model to model. I can confirm this as I have driven most of the cars in the segment. Seats: Great design, support and comfort BUT they are a bit firm. Gone are the days of soft seats that break down quickly and offer NO support in all driving conditions. I see this across every car/suv I have driven the past few years. Brakes: Remember the days when brakes on an Accord might last 30k? A lot has changed the past 10 years. My 13 has the original brakes at 68k. I hope I get similar service from the 18. NOTE: The brakes on the 18 are a bit touchy but easy to get used to. I drove another family car for a week and could really tell the difference once I got back in the Accord. Braking performance is great. Front Passenger Seat: No problems but some people may not like the fact you sit pretty low and cannot make adjustments to raise the seat. Again, this seems to be across the board for most cars. Research tells me the seat is low with no height adjustment for safety reasons - one of which is to allow the driver to see traffic coming FROM the passenger side. Makes sense actually. Auto-Lock Doors: GREAT feature but I wish/hope Honda will allow the timer etc.. to be adjusted. Once you close the last door, you have to remain pretty close to the car to prevent all doors to lock. This is a problem if you have items in the car and are going back and forth with the car and the house. The doors will re-lock. Note that this feature can be turned on/off by the driver. All in all, this is a cant miss, slam dunk winner of a car that everyone should consider if in the market for a sedan. If nothing else, drive it and compare to the other car you favor - you might be a convert! Thats all I have for now. Hope my input helps!
