Review: 2018 Honda Ridgeline

600 × 335

When Honda released the original Ridgeline back in 2006 it was a game changer with the light truck segment.  The 2018 version of the Ridgeline proudly continues that tradition. Once you learn more about this awesome vehicle, we are certain you will want one in your driveway.

Features

It is difficult to tell the Ridgeline’s story without mentioning its unit-body construction.  Unit-body construction helps boost the Ridgeline’s structural integrity versus conventional truck body on frame construction.  Other exciting features include available Apple CarPlayTM, Android AutoTM, and 60/40 rear seat split with under seat storage.  With all of these features you might think it would be difficult to choose a favorite but for Ridgeline owners it is easy, it’s Honda’s in-bed trunk.  Yes, this truck has a lockable, watertight trunk.  Not only is this trunk water tight, but for those hot summer days in New York, it also has a drain plug and can double as a cooler.

Performance

All 2018 Honda Ridgeline models come with Honda’s battle tested 280 horsepower V-6 engine.

This powerful six cylinder engine’s towing capacity is rated at a 3,500 lbs.  Honda uses its Veriable Cylinder ManagementTM (VCM) system to achieve EPA estimated fuel economy ratings of 19 city / 26 highway*.

Safety

Honda has always been a brand that puts safety first and the 2018 Ridgeline is no exception.  Some of the active safety features on this truck include Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, Brake Assist and Daytime Running Lights.  There are many other safety features are available on the Ridgeline that must be mentioned.  Features that include a multi-angle rearview camera, Honda LaneWatch, and the cluster of technology known as HondaSensingTM

HondaSensingTM carries with it such tech marvels as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Warning.  With all of these available safety features, it is easy to see why the Ridgeline was awarded a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)‡.
